DS:BB News Extra - Day 82 #2 Posted on August 26th

The latest news snippets and gossip from the house…

  • Kat told Mikey that she wants to go to Scotland to see Edinburgh Castle and to take in some shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She voiced her desire after learning the word “pal”, admitting that she has never ventured north of the border. Mikey explained that the festival sees acts and visitors from around the world descending on the capital for music, theatre, comedy, dance and more. He noted they would have missed the annual event for this year.
  • Rex set about cutting up the huge joint of meat housemates received as one of Big Brother’s ever changing prizes. Mo, Rachel and Mikey enjoyed a sample tasting session as the chef continued to work. They opted to eat the fillets tonight, storing the rest of the joint for future meals. Sara said repeatedly that she could not wait for the dinner, while Kat got to work making Bombay potatoes for the meal. Blood from the joint prompted Mikey to suggest that they “played at vampires”.
  • Kat revealed today that people with a large mole on one cheek normally end up being famous. The massage therapist, who has previously said she can read people’s faces, gave the examples of Madonna and Cindy Crawford.
  • Sara begged Mohamed not to stop as he gave her a massage in the garden this afternoon. Kat said she loved Mo’s massages, adding that his hands are strong. “Mo. Mo with his magic hands,” Sara enthused.
  • Lisa gave Mikey a scare this afternoon when she mistook a fly on her leg for a wasp and screamed. “Please forgive me,” she said, as she regained her cool and apologised. Lisa explained that the housemates had been talking about the wasps at the bubble gum task and she had them in her mind when she saw something flying around her leg.
  • Darnell and Michael agreed that it was “great” Mohamed had been chosen as the new Head of House. “It’s so funny,” Darnell added, pointing out that it never would have been expected at the beginning of the show. “You would think there’s a script for this but there’s not,” he grinned. “It’s like a movie.” Michael revealed that he would love to see Sylvia’s reaction to the news, while Darnell said he would like to see Luke and Rebecca’s faces as they “hated Mo the most”.
  • Some of the housemates decided to make chocolate crêpes. Rex was ashamed when he didn’t flip one properly, exclaiming: “I can’t believe I messed it up!” He threatened to throw the next one on the floor if it went wrong. “It’ll be on the floor then,” Kathreya giggled. However, Rex soon got frustrated as he tried to teach Kathreya how to make the crêpes. “This is why you’re not very good at being taught,” he complained. “You don’t listen.”
  • After deciding that Mohamed’s Giorgio Armani shirt was fake, Rex told the group that the counterfeit items sold in Thailand were sometimes better than the real thing. Rachel asked if it was illegal to buy fakes, but Rex admitted he had taken a whole suitcase of new clothes home from the country. “Crappy clothes don’t exist there,” he revealed. “Everything is copies of designer. All Thai girls look amazing.” He added that you had to be careful as there were prices for Thai people and prices for tourists.
  • Rachel quizzed Mohamed on the ultimate afro this evening, innocently asking: “How big can afros get?” As Mo thought carefully for the answer, she rephrased her question, asking: “What’s the biggest size of an afro - height wise? Can they get as wide as the door?” Mo replied that such a size was not “physically possible”, but promised to keep growing his until bits fell out so she could see one at its biggest.
  • Rex informed Sara that her Gucci bracelet was only worth £90 after she claimed that she would be swapping a £200 bracelet for Darnell’s favourite blue hoodie in their eviction bet. As Rex insisted that he knew the cost by heart, Sara quietly admitted: “Well, I paid £200 for it.”
